In collaboration with external research units the unique equipment for testing rock deformation and fracture under the triaxial state of stress was designed and fabricated. Rock samples may be saturated with sorbing or non-sorbing pore liquids.
The range of applied ambient and pore pressures is 400 MPa and the range of the applied axial force is up to 1 500 kN.
The electronic measurement and recording equipment was designed and fabricated in the Laboratory to give us a better insight into the relationships between mechanical quantities characterising the sample's behaviour. The dedicated experimental procedures and techniques have been developed, too.
