The 1st Stanisław Knothe Scientific Conference took place on April 19-20th, 2018 at The Polonia House in Cracow. The conference was dedicated to the person of Professor Stanisław Knothe and his scientific achievements.
The conference was very popular among the Polish and international scientists, industry representatives, people associated with the mining and building industry and people close to the Professor. In total, nearly 90 people took part in the sessions in two days. Mostly it was participants from Poland, but guests from Germany, China and USA, honored the conference. Participants listened to 26 speakers.
In the session dedicated to Professor Knothe’s person took the floor among others dr Adam Mirek, President of the State Mining Authority, Prof. Tadeusz Słomka, Rector of AGH University of Science and Technology, Artur Dyczko, Vice-President of the Management Board for Strategy and Development JSW S.A., Prof. Józef Dubiński, corresponding member of Polish Academy of Science, Prof. Wacław Trutwin, member of Polish Academy of Science and Mrs. Elżbieta Błeszyńska, Professor’s daughter.
The conference was a good summary of the wide applications of Knothe’s theory in Poland and in the world. Also that, it was a good moment of reflection, especially by the closest people of Professor’s Knothe.
The next, second edition of the conference dedicated to Professor’s Knothe will take place during The Mining Forum & Exhibition as a part of the Ground Control session on June 27-28th, 2019 in Berlin.
